The Crèche is owned by the Devonport Community Crèche Incorporated. The Devonport Community Crèche Incorporated is an incorporated society and a registered charity meaning that we are not-for-profit.

As a non-profit childcare centre, we reinvest all the funding we receive back into the Crèche. This allows us to employ more registered teachers and have lower staff/child ratios than other for-profit childcare centres.

We are governed by a Committee made up of parents of Crèche children. The parents are nominated to the Committee in accordance with the Rules of the Devonport Community Crèche Incorporated.

The current Committee Members are Sophie Gladwell (Chairperson), Richard Hilder (Deputy Chairperson), Clare Nikkel (Treasurer), Ashleigh Pope (Secretary), Demelza Michalick, Justin Maritz and Kylie Cushman.

The Committee meets every month to discuss and make decisions regarding how the Crèche is run. Given that the Crèche relies on both parent donations and fundraising, the Committee is also responsible for organising fundraising events. You can support the Crèche by helping us with fundraising events.

The Crèche is managed by Tessa Dunleavy, our Crèche Manager. Tessa attends all the Committee meetings and reports on the running of the Crèche. She also liaises with the Treasurer of the Committee to set the budget for Crèche.

If you have a child at Crèche and you would like to become a member of the Committee or you would like to help organise fundraising events, please get in touch.
